An update on Joey Biscuit.

we've been especially tired over here.  on top of caring for ella, we've been nursing joey biscuit back to good health.  his eye was removed last thursday.  we've been giving him his medications around the clock and having to crate him so that he won't bump into things and injure his eye.  not sure if it's pain or being confined to a crate, but he was howling all night his second night.  not good for a newborn and 2 sleepy first time parents.  with the help of our vet, we finally are giving him the right amounts of pain meds and sedatives to keep him comfortable...the perfect cocktail, if you will, for our jojo.  i'm happy to report that we walked to the park this morning.  his eye is getting less swollen everyday and in 2 weeks his stitches will be removed.  i can't wait...

Enucleation.

definition: surgical removal of the eyeball.

trust me, i wish i didn't have to know what it means.  but i do...

alas, it's time to get joey biscuit's eye removed.  my poor dog has severe glaucoma.  his eye pressure is through the roof and he is showing me signs that he's in pain.  he's going to get his eye removed tomorrow =(

i have mixed feelings about this.  of course i'm scared that he has to have surgery, but at the same time i'm excited because his source of pain will be gone.  he's a trooper, so i know he'll do fine.

look at him, hanging out right beside john and ella.  he's such a good dog.
